How we rank

Each hearing aid gets an expert score out of 10, built from reviews and testing published by sources such as HearingTracker, Consumer Reports, the National Council on Aging, Forbes Health, Verywell Health and Healthline.

Community votes then adjust that score by up to half a point in either direction. Votes are weighted so a handful can't swing the list — it takes broad agreement from many readers to move a product up or down.
